India became independent on 15th August 1947 . At that time country had to face many challenges. As a result of partition millions of refugees came to India, jobs and homes were to be given to this people .Also there were number of princely states that needed to join the nation .

A new political system was to be adopted to meet to the needs of the population . A lot of uneven distribution among high and low class, rich and poor, among castes, religion, gender were found. Even language was a major problem faced by Indian leaders . Hence a need was to divide the states and then join into nation as a whole .
