INTRODUCTION :
The Indian culture and industry have seen a drastic change. Industrial transformation took place due to the East India company that emerged from a trading company to a territorial colonial power .
Here we are going to see how East India Company becomes the Diwan .
And the permanent settlement introduced in Bengal and Bihar increased the revenue which could finance the purchase of goods for export . The company officials encouraged the investments in land and improvement in agriculture .
Ryotwari system was aroused in Madras and Bombay Presidencies . There was also a pressure to grow Indigo crop along with other crops .
And this lead to beginning first struggle for independent India “the revolt of 1857” .
